But what do I need all this history and information for?

It’s necessary to know some Sami history if you’re gonna have a time traveling Sami girl as a character. I need to know what the Sami would wear, what tools they used, where they lived, what they believed in, around different times.

I’m thinking more and more about having an educational message in the movie. I’m seeing this story more and more like a movie.

I see my character as the main character of a story I have in mind.


A story I have in mind:

I was thinking about having my character grow up in the late 1970’ when Sami had a hard time with the Norwegian government and were harshly discriminated upon (Around the construction of the hydro-electric power station in Alta that I referred to earlier).





She doesn’t understand why it’s like this and decides that she want to see for herself. After her grandfather’s death, he leaves behind this ancient Shaman drum that our main character finds.

She later finds out that the drum is bewitched and can take you back in time if you’re the right person and use it the right way. So she uses it to find the answer to all her questions.

She will travel back in time to see the history of her people and how they got oppressed and discriminated upon.
