I’m thinking about Unsure, Peaceful, Curious (I need to look more into this).


Does she have a companion or is she more of a loner?

I see her more as a loner, but she can have an animal as a companion, or two animals.
Perhaps a dog and a reindeer, like Cinderella has a dog and a horse, but I think this is too cliché.



Does the companions have to be physically there? Can they be symbols? A necklace or bracelet that contains the spirits?

Referring to the info I found about Sami shamanism, the shaman have companions when entering Saiva. A snake or fish to enter the underworld, a bird to enter the overworld and a reindeer as an alter ego. I want to use this in my character


How old is she?

As far as my description of her goes, I see her as 14 to 16 years old.


Her family:

After all I’ve digged up of information till now and what I’ve decided, I believe Áillun and her family are more like outsiders.

Her family could be more bound to old Shaman traditions before Christianity took over, or just non-Christians (This is more likely since Shamanism was not practiced in 1970)

Seeing as her grandfather had a Shaman drum and our main character has a lot of old symbols from that time on her in form of a necklace and bracelets, the family could feel more bound to their old religion.

This means that they are looked down upon by Christian Sami as well as well as the Norwegian population and government.

She would also be bullied at school for her family’s beliefs. It makes life a lot more difficult for Áillun.
